Durga Puja 2025 Aylesbury

It is our pleasure to inform you that we at Triveni CIC are organising, for the third time in a row, Durga Puja in Aylesbury in an effort to bring the community together and enjoy the festivities from 28th September to 1st October 2025 at Roman Park Hall, Sir Henry Lee Crescent, Aylesbury, HP18 0YT. ‘Durga Puja’ (Autumn festival) is one of the major festivals originating from the Indian sub-continent and celebrated by the South Asian community. In 2021, Durgotsav in Kolkata was accorded the honour of being included within the Intangible Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO. This event involves those part of the community, primarily from the South Asian sub-continent, however, this is an open-door event so we are more than happy to welcome people from all backgrounds regardless of religion, caste, gender, race or creed.

Durga Puja is one of the major festivals originating from the Indian subcontinent. It is celebrated majorly across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. In 2021, Durga Puja in Kolkata was included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO. Garba is a popular folk dance from Gujarat that was added to UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2023, mostly performed during the Navratri/Durga Puja Celebration. Goddess Durga is worshipped as the embodiment of Shakti (feminine power) and the festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil. These 5 days of celebration are an occasion to not only engage in prayer and worship, but more significantly, an opportunity for the entire community to come together in the true spirit of love and friendship, irrespective of religion, race, colour or creed.
